Variable Fonts
This page (or at least everything under the buttons above) is entirely rendered using a single font file—"FF Meta". This font includes both normal and italic forms, and each can be rendered in completely variable weights. As expected, IE (any version) does not support variable fonts, however all other current browsers do.
A Heavy Title
Hot off the press, variable fonts are about to hit the mainstream (italic g in FFMeta has a descender), and this is a good thing. A single file for all weights and styles of a single font. Full typographical freedom with smaller page-sizes—sounds good to me! Let's try them, here's a single font file displayed at different weights
